Vello Systems, a company specializing in cloud infrastructure and network virtualization solutions, signed a deal with Hudson Fiber Network (HFN) for the deployment of its CX50-T 10G cards on its New York and New Jersey Metro exchange routes.
Headquartered in Paramus, N.J., Hudson Fiber Network is a provider of Ethernet, data and IP services in the New York Metro area.
In a press release, Keith Muller, chief executive officer at Hudson Fiber Network, said, "A reliable and high-quality infrastructure with the lowest possible latency is mission-critical for buy-side, sell-side and financial service providers and this deployment is a crucial element to their operations."
"Our relationship with Vello (News - Alert) Systems provides our clients with a competitive industry advantage and keeps HFN at the forefront of the low-latency, carrier race," Muller added.
Launched by Vello Systems in January 2011, the 10G CX50T service card is designed for the Vello Systems 16-slot CX16000 system or the five-slot CX4000 cloud infrastructure system. The CX50T is optimized for intra-metro applications and is part of Vello Systems growing solutions portfolio for intra- and inter-metro low-latency networking.
As per the terms of this agreement with HFN, the CX50-T optical service card will now enable HFN to deploy five, 10G circuits on one card, which is up to five times the density of alternative solutions -- minimizing data center footprint.
Added to this, the ultra low-latency, sub-five nanosecond cards combined with HFN's metro exchange routes will now enable HFN's financial clients to further lower their network latency when receiving market data and placing orders from multiple exchanges.
"Hudson Fiber Network and Vello Systems have collaborated closely on the delivery of our fastest optical service card to the financial services market," said Karl May (News - Alert), chief executive officer and president of Vello Systems.
"Hudson Fiber Network's advanced optical network and innovative low-latency services enable their customers to gain a strategic advantage for their trading networks and optimize their data center interconnections for business continuity, regulatory and business agility goals," May added.
Recently in January, due to increased customer demand, Hudson Fiber Network opened up three, ultra-low latency, fast path fiber routes enabling metro and international customers to reach the top financial hubs at 755 Secaucus Road in New Jersey; 300 Blvd. East in Weehawken, N.J.; 151 Front St., in Toronto; and Steeles Avenue in Markham, Canada.
