USCarrier Telecom, a provider of high-capacity, high-speed telecommunications bandwidth, has joined Telx Ethernet Exchange.
Thanks to this, USCarrier will now be able to expand its reach to include previously underserved regions of Georgia, opening new business opportunities with other wholesale buyers and sellers of Ethernet, as well as large and medium enterprises.
"USCarrier selected the Telx Ethernet Exchange to leverage its one-to-many connectivity to better serve our customers in the Southeast," said Jack Roberts, vice president of sales for USCarrier, in a statement.
Roberts said that becoming a member of this fast-growing community enables the company to seamlessly interconnect to all carriers within Telx's data center in Atlanta, while other Telx Ethernet Exchange members now have additional options with direct access to the company’s Ethernet exchange from this key location.
The Telx Ethernet Exchange provides a more efficient and simplified method of interconnecting service provider networks on a one-to-many basis.
The Telx Ethernet Exchange is powered by the 6.4 TB/s capable Cisco (News
- Alert) ASR 9000 hardware platform and the modular Cisco IOS XR software operating system, simplifying network operations for Ethernet wholesale service providers and Enterprise customers while enabling comprehensive system redundancy and network resiliency.
As a Telx Ethernet Exchange member, USCarrier can leverage a high-value community of carriers to establish new revenue streams by expanding their network footprint.
Any network operator connected to any Telx or USCarrier exchange point will have the ability to virtually interconnect within Telx's Atlanta data center, eliminating the need for time-consuming ENNI agreements.
"The Telx Ethernet Exchange is a fast, cost-effective way for wholesale Ethernet providers like USCarrier to expand their service delivery model," said Glenn Calafati, vice president and general manager of Interconnection Services at Telx.
“Not only does this partnership make it easier for carrier customers to connect to USCarrier's Ethernet platform in the Atlanta data center, but it gives our Global Marketplace of customers even more last-mile connectivity choices. We look forward to helping USCarrier continue to expand its market reach through the benefits of the Ethernet Exchange," said Calafati.
Back in March, Telx, an interconnection and colocation provider in strategic North American markets, had announced that Pinpoint Network Solutions (News - Alert), a national provider of fiber optic and microwave transport, has joined the Telx Ethernet Exchange.
Deployed within Telx's downtown Chicago data center, Pinpoint plans to leverage the Ethernet Exchange to cost-effectively enhance its Carrier Ethernet offerings and extend it global reach through a single, one-to-many network connection.
