Azingo Mobile Supports Adobe Flash Lite on Linux Mobile Phones

Azingo (News - Alert), a company that provides open mobile phone software, reportedly has announced that it’s supporting Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 on Azingo Mobile, a mobile Web browser that the company says brings rich Web experiences to mobile phones, including animation, Flash player compatible video and Flash-based applications.

 
Azingo has made Adobe Flash available on a Linux mobile platform by integrating Adobe Flash Lite into its mobile browser, and has also announced integrated support for rich mobile applications based on Adobe Flash Lite.
 
With this support, Azingo Mobile customers will be able to leverage mobile Linux to offer a richer Web experience and dynamic, animated applications. Also, more than 1 million Adobe Flash developers now may access a mobile Linux platform for delivering applications, which can be developed using various Adobe tools.
 
The software provided by Azingo Mobile is based on LiMo Foundation (News - Alert) software. The foundation is a dedicated consortium of mobile industry leaders using an open governance model to deliver an open and globally consistent handset software platform for use by the whole mobile industry.
 
The Azingo Mobile Web browser provides enterprises with a cheaper, more flexible platform for designing and deploying mobile devices, by leveraging the economies of open source innovations.
 
Azingo Mobile is a comprehensive mobile Linux platform that offers customers high-speed porting and customization capability to the customers. Key components of the software platform include a highly configurable user interface and Web 2.0-enabled mobile applications suite, a SDK for applications developers, and mobile Linux engineering services.
 
Mahesh Veerina, president and chief executive officer of Azingo, said that the collaboration between Azingo and Adobe provides customers with the most complete mobile browsing experience on mobile devices available today.
 
Veerina said that Azingo is pleased to be working with Adobe to offer the mobile industry ever richer mobile experiences, incorporating the latest and most innovative applications on Azingo Mobile.
 
Gary Kovacs (News - Alert), vice president and general manager of Mobile and Devices at Adobe, said that the company is committed to providing rich user experiences through Flash across a broad number of devices and mobile platforms in the world.
