AdventNet, a company focused in delivering OEM and IT management solution, has announced the release the latest version of its Web NMS 5.
The company describe Web NMS as a network management model for building custom OEM software that helps in delivering superior network management solutions in a cost-effective, low-risk, and high-productivity model.
Prabhu Ramachandran, product manager for Web NMS at AdventNet (News - Alert), said that Web NMS has been the preferred NMS framework among OEMs for many years because of its very high developer productivity and accelerates EMS/NMS development without any trade-off in quality.
Its out-of-the-box development and utility features helps users in simplifying the product development cycle from customizing the framework to deployment. In addition, its built-in eclipse plug-in and enhanced persistence framework maximizes productivity in delivering a highly scalable solution, according to the company.
Latest Web NMS 5 also supports JDK 1.6, Tomcat 5.5, Windows Vista, Linux ES 5.0 and My SQL 5.and possesses self monitoring capabilities. It has improved status poll framework with integrated map view with events, alerts and customer tabs.
Web NMS monitors the JVM parameters like CPU Utilization, Memory Usage and Thread Counts, Data Collection rate, Trap, Event, Alert Processing Rates. For managing the JVM issues, if the JVM parameters cross the threshold, it is reported to Administrator by mail or other actions. For quick issue resolution Web NMS provides server and database logs in a sleek format, says the company.
The new version can be incorporated with the existing Operation Support Systems (OSS) and Network Management Systems (NMS) through northbound protocols, such as CORBA, SNMP, TL1, RMI, HTTP, and JMX. It also supports multiple protocols including SNMP, TL1, CLI, XML.
Steve Yocum, Director in JDSU's (News - Alert) Communications Test and Measurement business segment suggested that JDSU NetComplete, an award-winning service assurance solution supporting service providers worldwide, is a natural fit for the Web NMS 5.
