GO211.com reportedly has selected Azuki Systems to provide mobility to its Web site events, as it eyes a plan to offer snackable, personalized content and a full complement of socialization features to mobile users by making use of Azuki’s expertise in mobile media.

Officials at GO211 say their Action Sports community represents athletes within snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing and BMX and they present live Webcasts of major alternative sports events happening around the world.

The companies have signed an agreement through which Azuki will extend GO211.com’s (News - Alert) web, blogging and video features to the mobile platform, including live streaming of GO211.com events like this weekend’s Burton U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships.

“Azuki’s platform enables us to deliver live video streaming to mobile users just in time for this week’s U.S. Open Snowboarding Championships,” said GO211.com’s chief executive officer, Sean Aruda. “The social features in our new mobile site, including sharing and ratings, will help us build a stronger community for our users. Azuki’s cutting edge technology is quickly moving us forward to deliver the rich, interactive mobile experience our users are looking for.”

According to Azuki, the interactive mobile media services platform “MashMedia” can allow service providers to combine multiple types of media to create applications that can be tailored to individual subscribers. With this platform new content can be made from existing media, the created content will also be interactive and of short duration (snackable) taking advantage of the nature of mobile devices and reflecting actual usage trends. The platform was designed for content publishers who are interested in capitalizing on the burgeoning mobile market.

Azuki CEO Jim Ricotta said his company believes firmly in the importance of optimizing and extending content and community for mobile users and the selection of their technology by GO211.com is seen by them as recognition of their technical strategy.
