Formtek, Inc., provider of enterprise document and content management solutions, announced that it has successfully implemented and delivered an open source ECM solution, based on Alfresco Enterprise Edition, to Dorfman-pacific, one of the full-line, in-stock headwear and handbag companies.
The company will develop a more efficient method to manage and deliver their corporate images and associated metadata, for Dorfman Pacific. The solution will enable the capture, management and delivery of product images that would lead to productivity gains within Dorfman Pacific, and offer overall satisfaction to the Dorfman Pacific global users.
"We are extremely pleased to have been selected by Dorfman Pacific for this project, and proud to have successfully delivered the DP-IMA solution. DP-IMA is an outstanding example of Formtek applying our two decades of ECM experience to the implementation of the Alfresco open source software solution," stated Dennis M. Scanlon, Formtek's President and COO.
"Now that the foundation system is implemented, we look forward to providing Dorfman Pacific with outstanding customer service, and to expanding the solution to address additional business requirements," Scanlon said.
The Dorfman Pacific Image Management Application, is based on Alfresco Enterprise Edition, the open source alternative for enterprise content management. Dorfman Pacific chose Formtek to provide the Alfresco software license subscription, as well as a full range of implementation and integration services, based on Formtek's status as an Alfresco Gold Systems (News - Alert) Integration Partner, as well as Formtek's 20+ years of experience in providing ECM.
In addition to standard implementation services, Formtek analyzed and documented Dorfman Pacific's unique requirements, including the integration of Alfresco ECM platform with their existing product-line database and Adobe InDesign application. The final deliverable included configuration modifications to the standard Alfresco software, as well as custom software to allow for image conversion, batch image processing, and data loading by Dorfman Pacific's graphic arts team.
"We are very pleased with Formtek's performance on the DP-IMA project, including their ability to analyze our requirements, and design and deliver a solution that met our budget constraints," explained Todd Gardner, Senior Vice President of Merchandise and Marketing for Dorfman Pacific. "The final product will improve the ability of our sales force and customers to utilize our extensive library of images for their own marketing needs. At the same time it will significantly streamline our own marketing, product development, and sales efforts."
