ThinkFree and ARCHOS Announce Android Based Document Viewer

A recent deal between ThinkFree and Archos SA brings ThinkFree Mobile Android (News - Alert) document viewer to its first ever Android based Internet Media Tablet, the Archos 5.

 

This allows end users to view word processing, spreadsheet and presentation documents using ThinkFree Mobile Android. The new Android-based document viewer also features seamless integration with Google (News - Alert) Docs and ThinkFree Online, a popular online service enabling collaboration and synchronization across all documents.

 

Archos officials said that the sleek and slim Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet can play HD multimedia content, record TV programs.

 

Other features of the Tablet include a 5" high-resolution touch-screen, an ultra-fast TI-OMAP3 processor, a full-fledge Internet browser, and 3D GPS navigation.

 

The ARCHOS (News - Alert) 5 also boasts a storage capacity ranging from 8Gb to 500Gb, and allows users to store Android applications along with a number of full-length HD movies, songs, photos and more.

 

Founder and CEO, Henri Crohas said this alliance build on their well known innovation culture. This partnership enables ARCHOS to market the first internet tablet displaying Microsoft (News - Alert) Office documents.

 

“The new ARCHOS 5 Internet media tablet combines the best of Archos multimedia experience with the Android open operating system framework,” Crohas said.
