Kabira (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of extreme transaction processing software for large enterprises, and Capgemini Polska Sp z o.o., a provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services have designed and implemented a new service provisioning system (SPS) at Netia (News - Alert), an independent fixed-line telephony operator in Poland.
This entire project was designed and implemented in just seven months and is aimed at supporting Netia to offer expanded broadband services at the lowest cost to its customers in Poland. It is also expected to enable Netia's service delivery infrastructure to achieve current and future targets.
According to the terms of the agreement, the Kabira Provisioning and Service Activation (KPSA) platform was chosen to support the launch and activation of Netia’s new broadband services, ASDL access (including bitstream and LLU access), as well as VoIP, data and iDTV over ADSL. Capgemini (News - Alert) Polska Sp z o.o. managed the delivery, installation and implementation of this new service provisioning system and middleware platform.
“Replacing our in-house developed provisioning system with the Kabira Provisioning and Service Activation solution provides us with the ideal service fulfillment platform for managing both our existing and future requirements in a cost-efficient and 'future-proof manner',” said Jaroslaw Baczynski, chief information officer of Netia, in a statement. “KPSA gives us the ability to quickly provision and activate complex services, which are critical in today's intensely competitive Polish marketplace.”
“Capgemini has broad experience in the Telco sector and strong local competencies,” said Wojciech Wojnar, TME director at Capgemini Polska Sp z o.o. “I believe that this combination, together with our methodology of working with partners and clients, results in successful delivery.”
Wojnar also mentioned that this project is the first example of the working collaboration between Capgemini in Poland and Kabira Technologies to deliver solutions for the local telecommunications and financial sectors.
Philippe Lavigne, director of alliances for Kabira's EMEA region said that the flexibility, ease of use and reliability of KPSA will help enable Netia to efficiently deliver real-time convergent services at the lowest cost to its customers.
