Elitecore Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of operational and business support systems (OSS/ BSS) for the telecom industry, has launched EliteAAA appliance server from its CRESTEL division.

Aimed at carriers, service providers, and wireless operators across the globe, the EliteAAA appliance server addresses the growing access control, service delivery, and accounting requirements. Authentication for next-generation voice, video and data services is managed centrally.

Elitecore Technologies is planning to sell its EliteAAA appliance through original equipment manufacturers (OEM) vendors. Currently, the company is planning to tie up with distributors or channel partners for its EliteAAA.

“In addition to the authentication, authorization and accounting functionality required by other types of networks, WiMAX (News - Alert) AAA system requires the intelligence and performance to manage mobility and roaming,” said Nikhil Jain, COO and director, Elitecore Technologies, in a statement.

EliteAAA appliance is built on the Intel (News - Alert) platform and gives a performance of 1000 transactions per second. EliteAAA appliance will come in various versions from 500 ports to 50,000 ports.

Ensuring reliable accounting of the usage, EliteAAA improves service providers' competitive strength since it sits at the core of the service.

“EliteAAA supports multi-services and is NWG 1.2 compliant for mobile WiMAX networks,” Jain added.

The newly launched appliance server supports a number of service and business models. For instance, EliteAAA supports multiple service and business models such as wireless or wireline Internet access, outsourced remote access, managed virtual private networks (VPNs), broadband, voice over IP (VoIP) or any combination of services.

Service providers are looking for products and solutions that can support all business models. Cost is also a concern for several service providers.

Cost advantage is a focus area for Elitecore Technologies, which has offered Elitecore AAA in a box solution. It assists service providers to reduce implementation costs, slash setup times, and reduce maintenance.

The CRESTEL offerings from Elite Technologies include convergent billing, policy management, real time charging-rating and AAA software. Its other flagship product, Cyberoam (News - Alert), offers Internet security solutions to enterprises across the globe.
