Syniverse (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of technology and business solutions for the global telecommunications industry, announced that its Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service is enabling operators to improve operational efficiency, cost savings, high quality of service and flexibility to adapt to future technologies.
Launched as part of the newly branded Syniverse PRIME portfolio of network solutions, Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service provides access to the company's full suite of roaming, messaging and network services via a single network, company officials said.
With this single-connection approach, operators are able to introduce new services or increase network capacity without having to connect to additional networks, they added.
The PRIME solution is designed to meet any operator's existing connectivity needs for non-IP services as well as smooth its transition to IP-based services, including Long Term Evolution, or “LTE (News - Alert),” and WiMAX.
Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service has been chosen by more than 10 operators in the span of one year, according to Syniverse. They include some of the largest Tier 1 players in North America.
According to Tony Holcombe (News - Alert), president and CEO, Syniverse was the first in the mobile industry to launch an IPX solution last year, and that first-mover advantage accelerated the company's success with the emerging technology.
“Thanks to our network relationships with Tier 1 North American operators, Syniverse now serves as the go-to gateway provider for IP network connectivity into the region,” Holcombe added. “We are now reaching out to operators around the world plus expanding global connectivity points in Latin America, Asia Pacific and Europe.”
Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service is becoming the choice of several operators including both mobile and cable operators, each with its own set of unique network needs, the company said.
The enhanced reporting capabilities of the solution enable operators to keep a constant eye on network performance and service quality.
“Today's mobile subscribers expect seamless access to their services both at home and wherever they roam,” Holcombe added. “Syniverse Next-Generation IP Service allows any operator to meet that demand while simultaneously ensuring exceptional quality of service.”
In February Syniverse reported that its net revenue, which excludes off-network database queries, for fourth quarter of 2009, was $143.1 million, a 14.5 percent increase compared to fourth quarter 2008, an announcement from the company said.
