Ecessa's Link Aggregation Boosts Bandwidth Capacity

Helping SMEs increase bandwidth capacity by more than 350 percent, Ecessa (formerly Astrocom (News - Alert)) says it’s allowing them to use its PowerLink WAN link aggregation products with affordable DSL and/or cable links.

The company claims that this will also result in lower network costs and better performance.

Ecessa for WAN link aggregation offers redundant link access that results in 100 percent Internet up-time, company officials say, and it comes at affordable price since there’s no need to purchase multiple expensive high-speed links. That enables increased bandwidth by using cost-effective links without compromising up-time.

Officials at Ecessa say that PowerLink provides the best service and support in the industry, with 90 days of free service and support from U.S.-based factory technicians, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a three-year warranty. It enables WAN link redundancy, ISP failover and Internet high-availability among two links for important internal and customer applications.

“An affordable link aggregation solution is a relatively simple ROI decision,” said Jason Breyer, vice president of sales for Ecessa. “By installing a PowerLink WAN link controller, SMEs can replace a T1 line with two DSL lines, and save $7,205 per year in T1-associated costs even after fully accounting for the cost of the PowerLink. These savings for businesses translates to 60 percent overall savings for the first year and 85 percent savings for each year thereafter.”

PowerLink provides flexibility to use any type of network connection – satellite, cable, DSL and wireless. It also allows the optimization of under-utilized WAN links with WAN link aggregation with load balancing feature. Apart from bandwidth cost savings, the PowerLink also eliminates downtime for business-critical, time-sensitive applications. SMEs cannot afford a prolonged outage at peak business hours especially at these times of difficulty.

Recently, the company announced its new product family of affordable WAN Link Controllers. The new ShieldLink family – including the ShieldLink 100 model, pictured below – provides enhanced flexibility in defining access control. The Ecessa solution allows the companies to manage Internet traffic and maintain websites more effectively.
