In this regard, Blue Coat (News - Alert) Systems developed Application Delivery Network "ADN" infrastructure, which will be demonstrated at the ongoing 2010 Interop (News - Alert) in Las Vegas.
According to Blue Coat, its Application Delivery Network infrastructure is tailored to optimize and secure the flow of information to users across the extended enterprise. The company's application delivery network offers users with the visibility to discover, classify as well as prioritize applications and user access. It also accelerates the delivery of internal, external and real-time applications and helps in protecting users and information from malicious applications and content.
According to a press release, the company would be highlighting on how its ADN infrastructure can integrate application visibility, acceleration and security to optimize and secure applications over the Wide Area Network, or "WAN," at Interop 2010.
According to Blue Coat, its Application Delivery Network infrastructure is an application intelligence that facilitates enterprises to tightly align network investments with business requirements as well as speed decision making and secure business applications for long-term competitive advantage.
In order to optimize the delivery of advanced business applications, including video, Blue Coat developed ProxySG Virtual Appliance, which has been selected as a finalist in the Performance Optimization category for the Best of Interop 2010.
With the help of the Blue Coat ProxySG Virtual Appliance, a server running this appliance can also support Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Server 2008, various networking functions and any locally-run applications. These functionalities help IT managers to consolidate branch office infrastructure at lower operational costs.
Apart from showcasing the company's Application Delivery Network infrastructure, Blue Coat is also conducting three sessions at the 2010 Interop.
Chris Webber, product marketing manager at Blue Coat, will be discussing the power and deployment flexibility of the company's ProxySG Virtual Appliance during a moderated session entitled 'The Emergence of Virtualized Application Delivery Appliances,' at Interop. This session is will be moderated by Jim Metzler, vice president of Ashton, Metzler & Associates, who will compare the various approaches to virtualized solutions for the branch office.
Another session entitled 'Branch Office in a Box: Virtualization Strategies for IT Consolidation' is also being conducted, wherein Mark Urban, senior director of product marketing, will join Michael Adams, senior product marketing manager from VMware, and George Sadler, storage marketing specialist from Dell (News - Alert), to discuss strategies for virtualizing branch office applications, services and technologies.
One more session entitled 'Optimizing the Performance of Cloud Computing," moderated by Jim Metzler, will involve Michael Feiertag, director of technology at Blue Coat, who will examine the technologies that can accelerate cloud services and applications across multiple WAN links to reduce latency and optimize application performance.
Blue Coat's some of the technology integration partners include Code Green Networks, FaceTime (News - Alert) Communications, Sophos and Vineyard Networks.
