Protus, a provider of software-as-a-service, or “SaaS (News - Alert),” communications tools for small-to-medium businesses, announced the latest release of Campaigner, an e-mail marketing service for small businesses, with additional features and capabilities to support business growth.
In May 2009, Protus
integrated its Campaigner e-mail marketing service into its SaaS business communications suite. Protus had acquired Campaigner in June 2008.
The new Campaigner comes with a set of new tools that provide businesses with an easy and cost-effective way to build customer relationships, engage with prospects and increase sales, company officials said.
Enabling companies to create e-mail campaigns, templates, reports, and more, these tools also provide contact list management which helps businesses launch, grow and sustain successful e-mail marketing programs regardless of marketing experience.
“Small business owners often start a business because they’re good at something or have a passion for it,” said Steve Adams (News - Alert), vice president of marketing for Protus, in a statement.
Campaigner features a new user interface that allows even easier creation of new e-mail campaigns and sign-up forms that help small businesses build their opt-in mailing lists. A redesigned e-mail editor makes it quick to learn and use. Users can import contacts directly from Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel.
The new Campaigner also features a full-screen e-mail editing mode that makes it easier to see the overall look of the piece. An integrated image library allows users to drag and drop graphics into the e-mail or contacts merge fields.
The marketing tool is also enhanced with spell check feature, new formatting tools and an online help with a searchable help system and “how-to” tutorials.
However, Adams said, when these business owners start marketing their business, they realize the tools that are available in the market demand a certain level of expertise they don’t have.
Campaigner is designed to suit the needs of small businesses, Adams added. It helps small businesses run their own e-mail marketing campaigns without the need to hire costly outside marketing professionals.
The company also encourages small businesses by offering a free template that includes business identity features and contact information in place, the company said. Campaigner also provides 24x7 customer service and technical support. Campaigner offers a 30-day free trial. Small businesses can subscribe to the service for just $10 per month.
