Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless announced it has selected the Mobile Dial Code Services Platform from Zoove, a provider of StarStar Mobile Dial Code mobile direct response network, to manage the leasing of certain dial codes and campaign management for those dial codes.
Under the terms of the deal, Verizon Wireless will license the Zoove Service Platform and participate in the StarStar Mobile Dial Code or "MDC" Registry for nationwide dial code registration and management.
StarStar Codes are intelligent phone numbers that expand the reach of marketing campaigns by connecting mobile consumers with brands, marketing offers and promotions.
Available as short numerical codes they can be displayed as a brand name which functions similarly to a domain name, making them easy for consumers to remember and use. By simply dialing a StarStar Code, a consumer can receive a wide variety of marketing offers and promotions including applications, coupons, text, Web, multimedia, and voice/IVR delivered directly to their mobile phone.
By using the StarStar Mobile Dial Code platform, Verizon Wireless can offer a new, valuable service to advertisers, connecting them to a large cross section of mobile consumers, according to Tim Jemison, chief executive officer of Zoove. "The Zoove Platform will provide Verizon Wireless with the flexibility, scalability and control it requires to deliver a powerful mobile marketing service," Jemison said.
Richard Williams (News - Alert), executive director, marketing for Verizon Wireless, explained that Verizon Wireless selected Zoove's dial code solution because it provides an easy to use direct response mechanism, which delivers valuable promotions and services to Verizon Wireless customers who choose to receive them.
"Zoove Mobile Dial Codes provide advertisers with a branded call to action that can quickly connect Verizon Wireless customers to useful offers and information," Williams added.
Following this collaboration, Zoove and Verizon Wireless plan to launch the National Mobile Dial Code Registry, which will serve as central registration and management service for brands, advertisers and agencies to lease and manage MDCs including their brand names represented as MDCs.
