Protus, the provider of my1voice (News - Alert) a feature-rich virtual phone service suited for small businesses, announced the addition of enhancements which will make the service cost effective and similar to the ones used by large corporate houses.
Company sources added that the enhancements will make it easier to leverage all the capabilities of the service. The features that have been included now are a result of customer feedback and also the result of my1voice’s endeavor to serve small business customers optimally by providing features available in corporate phone systems.
Small businesses will be able to select their caller ID to display the my1voice extension the caller chooses before answering a call. For a one- or two-person office that has set up several extensions to give the impression that the organization is larger than it is, this capability allows the person answering the phone to know how to greet a caller. The greeting can be changed according to the customer request like as if it were from the sales department or the service department.
In case of some organizations, the ability to change phone greetings quickly is important. my1voice caters to this need by providing buttons in the online user interface in order to simplify the process. The user has to click on the button and my1voice calls the phone tied to that account, initiating a recording session that will enable greetings to be easily updated.

Adams added, “When it comes to answering customer calls, a few minutes saved here and there really add up. Our customers have told us what we need to do to help them with this challenge and we’ve responded. It’s a great example of ‘crowdsourcing’ from a very involved crowd.”

The features such as a virtual receptionist, a toll free number, dial by name directory, professional greetings, and customized extensions give small businesses the ability to appear like a large company.
The new enhancements in my1voice include more auto-attendant flexibility that allows users to select the number of times the auto-attendant message plays before an information message occurs. Users can also extend the ring time to two minutes to enable attending to the call since most small businesses operate with tight schedules.
my1voice sources said that companies will benefit from its many services including the virtual receptionist for voicemail and call forwarding and a single local or toll free number with unlimited extensions to reach all employees.
