Nov 19, 2012 (Orlando Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Andrea Canny is throwing a party to celebrate the release of her CD "Cab Fab" this Saturday, Nov. 24, at The Abbey.
Festivities kick off at 6, and Canny will perform at 7:30 p.m. Among her guests:
Her CD features musical-theater numbers such as "Summer in Ohio" from "The Last Five Years" and "Adelaide's Lament" from "Guys and Dolls." She also sings jazz standards such as "Skylark" and "Our Love is Here to Stay," as well as contemporary cabaret pieces such as Goldrich & Heisler's "Apathetic Man" and Alexander Sage Oyen's "Happy." Judy Garland fans, take note: She has included a medley of the singer's hits, as well.
The CD was produced by Donn Lamkin of Diamond Rock! The Legendary Rock Tribute, and co-produced by Michael Andrew of Swingerhead fame.
Andrew -- who has had his own recent success with the new musical "The Nutty Professor" -- will be a special guest at the CD release party, along with Trudie Petersen, John deHaas, Per Danielsson and Vernay N. Reindollar III.
The Abbey is at 100 S. Eola Drive, Orlando.
