ProcessPro Software founder dies at 47 [St. Cloud Times, Minn.]
(St. Cloud Times (MN) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 27--Edward "Ward" Blaschko, founder of a local software company, died Saturday at the age of 47.
Blaschko, the founder of ProcessPro Software in St. Cloud, died of complications of an intestinal infection, according to the company.
Blaschko started his career in custom programming in his St. John's University dorm room, according to the company. In 1985 he opened his own business in St. Joseph, called EMR Software Innovations.
In 1998 EMR aquired MS Consulting, which had developed a system known as ProcessPro for the process manufacturing industry. The new company operated under that name.
Today, ProcessPro Software provides integrated, real-time resource planning software for manufacturers, according to the company.
His death comes two weeks after he stepped aside as CEO, completing a planned leadership transition that had been in progress for more than three years, according to the company. Joe Blauert now serves as CEO of the company that has 50 employees.
ProcessPro Software Marketing Manager Karly Peters said there will be no immediate changes to the company following Blaschko's death.
In a news release, ProcessPro Regional Sales Manager Scott Fujan said Blaschko created a unique culture based on collaboration and innovation. Fujan also said he would remember his sense of humor.
"My times with Ward will be remembered for great laughter, tremendous storytelling and feelings of accomplishment in our work. His friendship will be greatly missed," Fujan said in the release.
Blaschko is survived by his wife, Gail, and children Katelynn, Bradey, Isaac and Tyanna.
Visitation will be 9-10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Wenner Funeral Home, 151 Oakwood Ave. SE in Richmond. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, 501 Main St. in Cold Spring.
