Amulet Unveils GEMmodule 4.3-Inch TFT Display for Embedded Applications

Amulet Technologies, a company that specializes in graphic user interface or GUI solutions, reportedly announced the introduction of their new 4.3 inch GEMmodule, a fully integrated production display module suitable for several embedded applications.

 

Company sources said that the module features Amulet’s GEM (News - Alert) Graphical OS Chip for color displays. The module supports GIF, JPEG and PNG graphic formats in 24-bit color, and also alpha-blending found in high-end consumer electronic products.

 

The GEMmodule is suitable for embedded system product designers who require an all-in-one drop-in graphic user interface solution. The module is 480x272 TFT LCD with a 16:9 aspect ratio, white LED backlight and integrated resistive touch panel besides featuring the GEM Graphical OS Chip.

 

The GEM chip includes a LCD controller, touch panel decoder, ARM7 processor, built-in font converter, Unicode support and a royalty-FREE Graphical Operating System, which manages the entire user interface, said Amulet sources.

 

The module also features a 32 megabit serial flash for storing GUI pages. The backlight can be controlled via the touch panel. The GUI can be programmed with either an HTML editor or GEMstudio, which is the company’s new GUI design tool via USB.

The 4.3-inch GEMmodule can be used by small and medium sized OEMs which are desirous of integrating GUIs to any embedded product, emphasized Amulet sources.
