ActiveVideo Networks, a provider of cloud-based interactive television solutions, recently displayed how its CloudTV platform can drive the launch of innovative services and next-generation television experiences in multiple exhibits at the recent Cable Show 2010.

ActiveVideo's exhibit, "My World: Powered by Cable' showed how processing in the network cloud can enable cable operators and programmers to increase subscriber engagement, generate new revenues and leverage Web-based navigation.

The exhibits also included applications that are live with major cable and IPTV (News - Alert) operators, as well as apps that are being designed for future deployments.

Also included was an iPhone remote navigation that increases the ability to find and control content, Web-based interactivity that enhances EBIF capabilities, Web-style personal and social television applications, intuitive navigation to drive next-generation on-demand iVOD experiences, games innovation and field results that confirm the power of games as a driver of usage and advanced VOD advertising integration.

Jeff Miller, president and CEO for ActiveVideo Networks  (News - Alert)said, 'As our footprint has grown over the past 12 months, there has been increasing recognition by the industry of how CloudTV can provide services that truly differentiate cable from competitors. Our Cable Show exhibit includes a smorgasbord of applications that can be delivered to any subscriber using existing cable infrastructure.'

ActiveVideo is in approximately 5 million homes in the United States and abroad. The ActiveVideo CloudTV platform utilizes existing VOD infrastructures or broadband connections to increase subscriber value for cable system operators and programmers. The platform makes use of existing Web content development technologies to enable operators, traditional and Web programmers and advertisers to write rich interactive content once that can be delivered uniformly to any digital set-top box, CI+ enabled television or broadband-connected CE device.
