TMCnet CEO Rich Tehrani sat down with Akash Saraf, co-founder of Vu Telepresence (News - Alert)at Interop2010 Las Vegas to talk about the telepresence market.

Vu Telepresence has recently released its Vu Telepresence Pro, which focuses on the home-based businesss market. Vu Telepresence Pro uses consumer class DSL and Vu provides all of the hardware for the system.

Vu TelePresence Pro was designed for home offices, small offices, home based professionals and executives so it utilizes low and inexpensive bandwidth without sacrificing audio and video quality, according to the company's website.

Vu Telepresence is anticipating a mass rollout of Vu Telepresence Pro in July of this year.

'The opportunity that we were seeing was …. Everyone wants to go after the big clients, we're going after the home business,' Saraf said.

The entire Vu Telepresence Pro solution costs $99 a month, not counting the cost of an internet connection. Customers do sign a multi-year agreement but can cancel if they pay a $300 cancellation fee.

'We saw the space between Skype (News - Alert)and Cisco,' Saraf said when asked about the quality of the product by Tehrani.
