TMCnet Business Process Outsourcing Week in Review

By Rachel Ramsey, TMCnet Web Editor

To kick the week off in the business process outsourcing industry, Alorica was recognized at Contact Center World for its home agent program. Its program, AloriCares, is managed and staffed by American veterans and was created to provide service solutions in a virtual call center environment while empowering American veterans to reclaim their lives after service. AloriCares’ agents are recruited, screened, interviewed, hired and trained from home.

BMC Software, provider of a unified business service management (BSM) platform and cloud management for automating IT processes, and Capgemini (News - Alert), a provider of outsourced infrastructure, expanded their partnership to help customers realize the benefits of cloud computing, enable more cloud adoption and help them meet EU regulations on energy, privacy and energy consumption. The partnership has made BMC the largest cloud-based IT service management solutions provider in Europe, and Capgemini has become the largest global partner for BMC Remedy OnDemand, BMC’s IT service management solution.

NASCAR and business process outsourcing teamed up this week as the U.S. call center insourcing/outsourcing firm TMone is sponsoring FAS Lane Racing, a NASCAR team owned by long-time crew chief Frank Stoddard. At Sonoma, TMone joined Hendrikcars.com, which is the primary sponsor of the team and the iconic driver Borris Said, who is going to pilot the No. 32 Ford Fusion during the racing season in northern California.

TMone and FAS Lane Racing also forged a “We Drive Sales” partnership, as a part of which the two are actively hiring. The partnership is going to continue for the 16th race this season at Sonoma.

Also this week, market research firm Infonetics Research (News - Alert) has generated a new report that focuses on service providers outsourcing to other vendors in the business. The report, titled Service Provider Outsourcing to Vendors, provides market size and vendor market share, and projects growth for the next five years.

Some of the results of this report indicate that service providers spent 9 percent more on outsourced networking services to equipment vendors in 2011, which amounted to $60 billion, than in 2010’s $55 billion.

To end the week, ADP has been positioned as a leader in Gartner’s (News - Alert) “Magic Quadrant for Payroll BPO Services.” This is the first time Gartner is attempting a magic quadrant for this sector.

“ADP provides payroll outsourcing solutions to organizations of all sizes, and in addition to strategically broadening and enhancing our human capital management solutions portfolio, we have continued to make the necessary investments to extend our leadership position in payroll processing,” said Regina Lee, division president at ADP.
