The mobile solutions company, GroveWare Technologies Ltd. has announced an expansion of its contract with the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (DLL) for the State of South Carolina, which has been using the company’s mobile inspection solution MobiTask for its agents completing on-site inspections of elevator installations.

With the expansion of the agreement, DLL will now be using this mobile inspection and licensing tools for other regulatory inspection functions including those for pharmacies, athletic facilities, cemeteries, funeral homes, veterinary facilities and beauty/barber salons.

GroveWare's showcase software, MobiTask, is a wireless client application that can be used to mobilize employee tasks in the field and connects them directly to the organization's enterprise software systems. MobiTask allows organizations to rapidly and cost-effectively deploy mobile solutions for workers on the go. MobiTask provides the convenience of using dynamic electronic forms created using GroveWare's eXFORMA middleware to collect field data, manage workflow, HR and CRM tasks wirelessly, store documents locally and integrates quickly with most ERP systems and back-end databases on any application such as Oracle e-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, SharePoint, Kronos (News - Alert) Workforce Central, MS Dynamics or SAP.

In a statement GroveWare said that the extension of the agreement follows the successful implementation of the solution by the department for its elevator inspectors. The implementation, according to the company, has dramatically improved the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of the inspection process.

“All 50 states, thousands of counties and municipalities and the federal government each have responsibility for multiple inspection, licensing, monitoring and compliance functions. Millions of inspections are completed by government employees every day and almost all of them are currently documented using paper processes,” GroveWare's CEO Hrair Achkarian noted in a statement.

Adding, “We continue to be in involved in discussions with several municipal, state and federal departments and agencies and are very excited about the potential for MobiTask to streamline processes and reduce costs within the government sector. South Carolina's DLL was one of our first customers and we are delighted that GroveWare is expanding its role within this state's administration.

It will be relevant here to mention that the state's Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is committed to promoting and protecting the health, safety and economic well-being of the public through regulation, licensing, enforcement, training and education. It does so through 40 separate state agencies, including the Department of Labor, the State Fire Academy, the Office of the State Fire Marshal and 38 professional and occupational licensing boards.

GroveWare Technologies recently successfully concluded a 12 month pilot project with the New York State Department of Health's Center for Environmental Health (CEH), during which many state wide environmental health inspection processes, which are currently performed on paper, can be replaced with wireless tablet devices using GroveWare`s MobiTask inspection solution which utilizes the eXFORMA Suite of products.
