TMCnet's Business Process Outsourcing Week in Review

By Rachel Ramsey, TMCnet Web Editor

Business Process Outsourcing is catching the attention of more and more companies as they realize the benefits its offers, such as cost savings, flexibility, performance improvement and improved service quality. Each week, we hear more about service announcements, solution adoptions and trends to improve companies’ business process outsourcing solutions. Here are the top stories in the industry this week.

Cloud solutions provider Innotas unveiled the new version of its cloud-based Project Portfolio Management (PPM (News - Alert)) product, which includes new application portfolio management capabilities designed to help IT better manage application portfolios and gain more visibility into IT projects. The new version of Innotas PPM, which is available immediately, also includes improved reporting and group security features aimed to make it easier and more secure to manage applications, projects, resources and budgets, according to Kevin Kern, CEO of Innotas.

Alorica, a provider of business outsourcing solutions that span the entire customer lifecycle, shed some light this week on how customer management helps maximize relationships and identify new opportunities for growth. According to research firm Gartner (News - Alert), the top three strategic business priorities for organizations in 2012 are to improve profitability, attract and retain new customers and improve marketing or sales effectiveness. Alorica, a provider of business process outsourcing solutions, offers customer management services and solutions to help companies achieve these goals.

Effective sales and marketing customer management can help achieve increased profitability by helping target profit pools – those segments of the market that are more profitable than others. Today, many companies are outsourcing their lead generation programs in order to more effectively garner prospects. Teleprospecting is one of the most effective tools in a lead generation program; it’s a process of gathering high-level market information and identifying qualified prospects via the phone. Alorica is hosting an upcoming webinar, “7 Steps to Creating a Powerful Teleprospecting Engine,” to explore the trend and how to improve your teleprospecting plan.

American automobile manufacturer General Motors (News - Alert) recently announced that it has started to implement and integrate AuraPortal’s Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) in its Ecuador plant to enhance efficiency and output at the administrative level. The software operation is said to be a part of the $45 million investment strategy that was announced back in April.
