QualiSystems' TestShell Framework Installed in more than 5M Devices

Test and lab automation software solution provider, QualiSystems (News - Alert), recently revealed that its TestShell Framework currently manages more than five million devices in test labs around the world.

The TestShell Framework allows engineers to inventory, control, schedule and provision all network, storage and computing elements within a test lab environment. Testing labs operated by network equipment manufacturers, storage manufactures, telecom operators, data center providers, Fortune 500 companies and electronics device manufactures can participate in a variety of scenarios, including unit and integration test labs, Technical Assistance Center labs, Proof of Concept labs, outsourced custom solution test labs, consolidated and federated test labs, collaborative testing between manufacturer and client labs. and Lab-as-a-Service with client access to cloud testing resources based on a designated fee.

"Although critical to application, service and product rollout cycles to assure quality, testing is often considered merely an expense or even a burden," Alex Henthorn-Iwane (News - Alert), vice president of marketing at QualiSystems, said in a statement. "QualiSystems is pleased to be changing this perception as lab and test automation adoption moves from early adopter to mainstream as evident by our phenomenal growth. We are pleased to partner with leading global companies to aid them in increasing the return on investment of their significant lab investments."

"The final result," he said, "is faster time to market, higher competitiveness, and evolving the lab from expense to profitable business center."

The TestShell Framework is said to provide engineers with an efficient and time-saving method when it comes to testing products.

"Through test automation, labs can cut opex and enable engineers to complete more tests in less time thereby reducing time to market," Olga Yashkova-Shapiro, program manager of the North America Communications Test and Measurement Practice from Frost and Sullivan, said in a statement. "Fortunately, end users are increasingly realizing the benefits of automation which expands market opportunities for QualiSystems."

In related company news, QualiSystems recently named Avery More as the chairman of its board.
