Under constant pressure to improve business performance, many companies look to increase efficiency and reduce the cost of their document management processes. Canon (News - Alert) Business Process Services is a Six Sigma organization, providing managed services and technology.

In a statement, the company revealed its plan to spotlight solutions for effective management of legal documents, records and eDiscovery processes at the Association of Legal Administrators Annual Educational Conference and Exposition, one of the premier events for the legal management field taking place April 14-16 in Maryland.

Canon said it will also focus on highlighting how records management best practices are critical for effective governance, risk management, litigation preparedness and strategic decision making.

At least 26 of the top 50 Am Law 200 firms, including five of the top 10 firms and 13 of the top 25 firms, currently rely on Canon Business Process Services for document process outsourcing and litigation support services.

This year’s ALA conference and expo is focusing on enabling professionals to enhance their knowledge, develop management skills to successfully address daily challenges and maintain personal and professional growth. The event is at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Attendees have the opportunity to attend education sessions that cover five core management areas: Communication & Organizational Management, Financial Management, Legal Industry/Business Management and Operations Management.

Executives at the Canon Business Process Services event will discuss findings of the company’s recent records management industry survey. On the Record examines a variety of recordkeeping best practices that organizations have implemented and with which are helping meet important business priorities.

The report also spotlights areas in which some organizations may be experiencing challenges and can tap hidden opportunities to maximize the value of their records management processes.

In related news, Canon Business Process Services highlighted three of the best practices organizations should consider for 2013 to improve accounts payable (AP) functions. They are streamlining the invoice process, leveraging new technology and outsourcing nonstrategic work, and migrating from paper to digital workflow.
