Tangoe (News - Alert), Inc., a global provider of mobile communications lifecycle management (CLM) software and related services, has signed a Software Development Cooperation Agreement (SDCA) with SAP (News - Alert) AG for collaboration on mobile security and management solution.
As part of the pact, Tangoe and SAP will work cooperatively to integrate Tangoe’s Mobile TEM software suite with the SAP Mobile Secure portfolio including SAP Afaria 7.0.
Thanks to the agreement, Tangoe and SAP will be able to develop interoperability between the SAP Afaria mobile device management software and Tangoe’s procurement, fulfillment, invoice processing, expense allocation, asset management, plan optimization, catalog management and carrier payment capabilities.
“The exponential growth of enterprise mobile computing requires robust and globally available solutions to proactively manage mobility usage,” said Sanjay Poonen, president of technology solutions and head of mobile division, SAP, in a statement.
Poonen said that companies can no longer focus on one aspect of enterprise mobility management, but must instead take a holistic view of their mobile ecosystem.
“We anticipate that our software development cooperation agreement with Tangoe will expand the SAP Mobile Secure portfolio to manage mobile communications in addition to mobile devices, applications and content,” said Poonen.
As a major player in enterprise application software, SAP helps companies of all sizes and industries run better.
Al Subbloie (News - Alert), president, CEO, and founder of Tangoe said that this agreement marks a critically important phase of a potential multi-phased relationship with SAP, as brings together one of the industry’s broadest enterprise mobility software providers and a leading provider of Mobile CLM solutions in order to more fully address the number-one trend impacting enterprises today: mobility management.
“We are optimistic that our combined innovation will further enable enterprises to harness the potential of mobility for transforming their business,” said Subbloie.
