Business Process Outsourcing Week in Review

Time to kick off a long weekend with a news recap. For this week in review edition, let’s look at the latest headlines in business process outsourcing.

First up we have Third Wave Business Systems, which announced a collaborative effort with BOARD International, a business intelligence solutions provider, in which Third Wave will be the only North American distributor of BOARD to SAP (News - Alert) Business One clients.


Third Wave Business Systems is a SAP Business One implementation partner.

“We are excited about our new partnership with BOARD International and how they have turned to us as their North American distributor for SAP Business One clients,” the company said. “We’ve already demonstrated BOARD’s capabilities to several of our clients, and they see the tremendous value and insight that it will provide. It’s a great opportunity to expand their business intelligence by implementing a solution that easily enables them to create business-critical reports and analysis.”

In other SAP news, Tangoe (News - Alert) Inc. signed an SDCA with SAP AG for mobile security. Tangoe’s Mobile TEM will be integrated with SAP Mobile Secure portfolio including SAP Afaria 7.0.

“The exponential growth of enterprise mobile computing requires robust and globally available solutions to proactively manage mobility usage,” said Sanjay Poonen, president of technology solutions and head of mobile division, SAP, in a statement.

Together, the companies will be able to develop interoperability between the SAP Afaria mobile device management software and Tangoe’s procurement, fulfillment, invoice processing and expense allocation.

Last but not least, Alorica, a BPO solutions provider, inked a deal with CenturyLink to expand its Topeka, Kan. call center. The company is planning to increase the number of employees working at the Topeka facility from 170 to 450. The facility can hold a total number of 650 people.

“We have been happy with the workforce we have been able to recruit in the Topeka area and feel we will have no trouble finding the employees we need to fill these new positions.
