Tyntec, a German-based mobile interaction specialist, announced it will be demonstrating its tt.One infrastructure solution at the CTIA Wireless (News - Alert) conference and CTIA's Showstoppers event this week in New Orleans.

tt.One aims to give businesses power to integrate telco services such as voice, SMS and mobile numbers into online services and applications. By putting the aforementioned services into the cloud, the solution is able to provide IP-compatible, virtual mobile numbers that enable the two-way transmission of voice and SMS in multiple countries.

Portio Research, an independent research firm for the mobile and wireless sector, found traffic from over-the-top (OTT) Internet companies grew to 3.5 trillion messages in 2011. Mobile telecom operators are facing competitive pressure from OTT alternatives such as Facebook, Skype and Google (News - Alert). At the same time, Internet companies looking to integrate mobile services face technical and structural complexities and regional-specific requirements.

By virtualizing all of the core mobile communications capabilities into the cloud, tt.One is able to provide a high level of portability, eliminating both regulatory hurdles and the need for a SIM card for additional services.

Pinger (News - Alert), a global communications service that makes SMS and calling free on mobile platforms and the Web, marked its expansion into Europe by deploying tt.One in Germany to power its carrier-independent services. tt.One powers the service and assigns Pinger users with unique mobile phone numbers and processes all incoming and outgoing messages.

tt.One has many potential uses when it comes to Web 2.0, applications and social media. The solution can be used for free or low cost texting and calling apps; one number services where consumers can aggregate their various telephone accounts under a single, virtual number; and anonymous voice chat for online dating and social networking using temporary virtual phone numbers to place calls, allowing the customer to hide their actual number.

Michael Kowalzik, CEO of tyntec, stated that consumers are seeking new ways to communicate through their online services, but the complexity of regional infrastructure and proprietary standards have made it nearly impossible for Internet telephony companies to gain any traction in the marketplace.

"tt.One is about simplicity, making it easy for any North American company to enter the European market and capitalize on the growing market shift toward Internet telephony services", said Kowalzik.
