Huawei (News - Alert) has entered into a managed services agreement with Three UK. As per the agreement, the former will provide service management and operations for Three's core network in the UK. In addition, Huawei has appointed TechMahindra as its ICT Partner to deliver the ICT applications management.

Dave Dyson, CEO at Three UK, said, “The decision to select Huawei to manage core network operations follows a rigorous procurement process. We chose the partner that best met our requirements and which matched our long-term vision of how our network should be managed.”

“This partnership is just one of a series that sees us enhance the capability of our Ultrafast network. The partnership means the existing team experience will continue to support the management of our core network.”

Under the agreement, Huawei will see a number of permanent roles transfer to work for Huawei's managed services business and TechMahindra for the ICT applications management. The terms and conditions of these employees will be protected under the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations (known as "TUPE").

Victor Zhang, CEO at Huawei UK, said, “Huawei is very pleased to be selected by Three for the operations management of its core network. We already work with Three in six markets internationally and today's partnership extends that relationship to the UK. The agreement is an important step in building a world-class managed services capability. Huawei has been in the UK for eleven years and by focusing on the needs of our customers, we continue to develop and grow our business.”

“I am also pleased that later this year we will be welcoming new employees to Huawei, the skills and experience they bring will be vital as we develop our managed services capability, as well as managing Three UK's core network operations going forward.”

Recently, Huawei Technologies announced that it had begun commercializing enterprise-level product 802.11ac AP. 802.11ac AP has two models respectively equipped with AP7030DN-AC (inbuilt antenna) and AP7130DN-AC (external antenna). The commercialization of 802.11ac AP will make it possible to access to 1000M wireless network and further push the trend of BYOD (bring your own device).

It is said that a 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-frequency forward compatible function is designed for both models, realizing the smooth transition between standards 11n and 11ac. Meanwhile, the speed can reach 1.3Gbps on 5G frequency band and 1.75Gbps on dual-frequency band of the product, which will amply satisfy the needs for big bandwidth businesses including high-definition video streaming, multi-media services, desktop cloud application and so on.
