Virtual Global's New Online Store Provides Developers Tools For Creating SaaS Solutions
January 29, 2013
Virtual Global recently introduced the SaaS (News - Alert) (News - Alert) Maker, a full-featured, end-to-end platform as a service, which will allow developers to quickly and easily create, publish, and market software-as-a-service solutions.
In a statement, Cary Landis, CEO of Virtual Global, said that, “Most cloud platforms have stopped short of providing the complete environment a developer needs to go to market. Our Idea to Revenue model gives you more than a set of development tools and a hosting platform. It gives developers everything they need to succeed, from the moment they conceive of their app, all the way through putting it on the marketplace and becoming profitable.”
The demand for SaaS applications within the market is seeing rapid escalation. Features such as improved security, reliability, and affordable costs are leading businesses to the cloud. This exodus has increased the pressure on developers, resellers, VARs, and integrators, to quickly re-invent themselves if they want to retain their market position and efficiently address this demand. This prompted Virtual Global to develop a platform which could help vendors re-invent themselves and their service offerings.
Landis said that, "What we've done with SaaS Maker is extend it to accommodate the entire lifecycle of an application – from idea to revenue. We want to stay with users after they've already completed development, and help them actually enter the marketplace and derive revenue from those products. Our Idea to Revenue offering takes SaaS development to the masses, for the first time allowing entrepreneurs and startups to develop web programs, take them to the marketplace, and generate revenue, all within the same platform."
Developers leveraging platform-as-a-service tools such as SaaS Maker can now easily create, deploy, and market their standards-based software on the cloud at affordable pricing in shorter time frames.
SaaS Maker has been designed with easy development tools which support the initial conceptual product and also alternatively a quick proof-of-concept model. This model can then be further developed into a robust product featuring built-in cloud functionality and security, which can then be quickly deployed in the cloud and sold within the ready-made cloud apps market.
