Actiance Launches Alcatraz to Reduce Risks throughout the Information Lifecycle

Actiance announced the launch of Alcatraz, the first of its kind context-aware cloud archiving solution to reduce risks associated with data loss and sanctions throughout the information lifecycle. The new solution integrates context awareness capabilities with conventional email archiving features. Further, Alcatraz is deployed fully through the cloud, which makes it easily deployable and scalable as per an organization’s requirements while supporting the most economical eDiscovery capabilities.

Alcatraz is designed to fit into the evolving trends in data archiving requirements by managing the shift in information paradigm. This enables enterprises to develop true context-aware archiving solutions across all communication platforms such as collaboration, social media, social software, instant messaging and email.
The currently available on-premise archiving solutions do not cover the nuances associated with archiving social media content, which is easily modified by users. This poses new threats to data loss and sanctions while significantly increasing the costs associated with eDiscovery capabilities. Alcatraz is designed to understand the emerging forms of communication such as social media and other similar platforms while also complementing the existing email archiving solutions. This allows organizations to deploy Alcatraz within their existing infrastructure without incurring additional deployment costs.

The other features of Alcatraz include contextual retention where social, email, and unified communications content are archived as a single threaded conversation, an approach which reduces 36 percent of the downstream legal costs. The tool also records edited and deleted content while also facilitating data retrieval from third-party applications to create a single data repository.
Actiance is engaged in providing information governance platform for organizations to manage and streamline content from conventional communication channels, collaboration channels and social media content.
