NetFortris has announced that it has released the UC-Ready Cloud Communications Platform for mid-sized enterprise businesses.

"Unified Communications (News - Alert) is essential for today's on-the-go workforce. IT leaders that embrace cloud solutions to replace aging on premise solutions will not only meet the needs of their users but realize major cost and productivity gains," said NetFortris CTO Tom Swayze. "The new NetFortris UC-Ready Communications Platform is designed to deliver flexible, cost effective and reliable communications services across any device or PC users choose.  We have worked with enterprises of all sizes to define and deliver the communications and collaboration solution workforces need today while giving IT a technology foundation for more advanced applications and functionality they may require in the future."

The company is touting the cost savings of its new system over previous teleconferencing solutions because it supports VoIP technology instead of proprietary systems.

The Cloud Communications platform integrates voice, email and videoconferencing. It supports Windows, iOS and Mac devices. The system also includes many of the features that users expect from other UC systems, including integrated instant messaging and desktop sharing.

It supports a number of existing desktop phones and is designed to be extremely reliable, adhering to the “Five Nines” principle.

The system also has features geared toward call centers. Callers can reach specific people via hunt groups, auto attendant and advanced call distribution (ACD). It’s also possible for employees to be reached with a single phone number across all of their devices. There are also abbreviated numbers and numbers that can be used without regard for geography to make international calling easier.

The Cloud Communications platform is also designed to support major business regulations, such as HIPPA, Dodd-Frank and CALEA out of the box.

NetFortris looks poised to benefit from the growth of interest in unified communications as businesses look to cut costs on communications.

"The market for cloud services continues to expand with businesses worldwide seeking out hosted alternatives," Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC, and IMS at Infonetics (News - Alert) Research, said. The firm expects revenue for cloud UC systems to grow by 13 percent this year.
