Polycom Business Phones Now Available with NetFortris UC Platform

NetFortris recently announced that it would start offering PolyCom VVX Series Business Media phones with its UC-Ready Cloud Communications Platform. The new line of phones gives NetFortris more variety in the phone selection it offers to customers and allows them to have a turnkey UC solution.

Based in San Francisco, NetFortris, Inc. offers a cloud-based communications platform, security, and analytics for enterprise-level customers. According to the company’s website, it offers VoIP phones from Yealink (News - Alert) and Polycom for its cloud PBX systems.

San Jose, California-based Polycom makes devices that support the communications needs of a modern office environment. This goes beyond mere voice communication; it has devices that also support collaboration and conferencing. They allow offices separated by great distances to avoid the costs of travel with products that deliver high quality audio and video.

The lower end of Polycom (News - Alert) phones offered by NetFortris starts with the VVX 310, which supports 6 lines, has HD voice, and comes with a 208 x 104 backlit LCD. The VVX 410 offers what the 310 does, but supports 12 lines and has a 320 x 240 color display. These phones would be suitable for employees who do not require sophisticated features or conferencing support.

The higher end models are better suited for management or anyone requiring better conferencing support. Both the VVX 500 and VVX 600 have touch screen displays and can be converted into desktop conference stations with the installation of Polycom’s VVX Camera. The device is easy to install with its USB cable and delivers high quality 720p resolution video. The IP 6000 SoundStation lets small to medium conference rooms can get the same HD voice that the VVX phones offer.

One of the most compelling reasons for enterprises making the switch to cloud-based communications is that they don’t have to do nearly as much work in setting a new system up or configuring it for more users as they did with traditional PBXs. NetFortris takes this a step further by offering phone and video devices that when combined with its platform, effectively become turnkey solutions.

NetFortris is not the first company to do this and certainly won’t be the last. It’s simply another sign of the times that cloud-based communication is too compelling an option for companies tired of the hassles of on-premises PBX (News - Alert) systems. Anyone who can deliver a solution that spares them these hassles will have no shortage of potential customers.
