As a Technology Partner in the Avaya DevConnect program, call management and reporting software manufacturer Metropolis Technologies (News - Alert) recently announced that its OfficeWatch SL software has completed interoperability testing with multiple Avaya unified communications tools.

Specifically, OfficeWatch SL will be able to add its call reporting functions to Avaya (News - Alert) IP Office 9.1 which acts as a basic telephony system for all size businesses. This will allow enterprises to get an overall view of how they are using their Avaya phone systems and find ways to reduce expenses. Similar to what Sharon Harry, the marketing director at Metropolis, points out, businesses with tight budgets should find many benefits from the reports that her company's software can create.

“OfficeWatch helps small to medium-sized businesses get more from their communication system,” Harry said. “It makes powerful call reporting easy so Avaya users can get a dashboard view of their communication network.”

Eric Rossman (News - Alert), the vice president of developer relations at Avaya, points out further that OfficeWatch can help businesses get the most from their telephony systems. This underscores the importance of interoperability testing because there are many organizations that already use Avaya and may consider reporting as the next step in their development.

DevConnect (News - Alert) establishes a framework for how third-party software can work directly with Avaya products. For OfficeWatch, passage through that program shows businesses that the two platforms can work together and play against each others' capabilities. Those businesses, in turn, know that they can continue to use Avaya as a base while absorbing other, similar software that will extend the tools their staff can use to make work more efficient and their operations more effective.
