Sync Probe Provides PTP Delivery And Assurance
(Mobile Development and Design Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The FSP 150SP sync probe from ADVA Optical Networking is
designed to simplify the deployment and maintenance of 4G mobile
networks. Its Precision Time Protocol (PTP) clock probe
simultaneously supports synchronous Ethernet and IEEE 1588v2. It
also features a built-in GPS receiver. According to the company, it
provides time synchronization and assurance across multi-vendor
mobile backhaul infrastructures. Backhaul service providers, then,
can offer synchronization as a service, which ADVA Optical
Networking says hasn’t been possible before. The company also
says that legacy T1/E1 solutions can be decommissioned and that GPS
receivers aren’t needed anymore at every basestation.
Furthermore, the FSP 150SP brings ADVA Optical Networking’s
Syncjack timing distribution and assurance to every node in a
network for comprehensive end-to-end management, monitoring, and
testing. Greenfield installations and older first-generation
Carrier Ethernet networks alike can be instantly upgraded to enable
new revenue from the delivery of SLA-based synchronization services
with both PTP and SyncE network monitoring and performance
analysis. Precise clock accuracy measurements and enhanced
statistics can be gathered with external, internal, and GPS
references, or even when no synchronization reference is
available.
