Renal Ventures Management Announces Formation of RV Physician Partners

Renal Ventures Management LLC, a leading provider of dialysis services for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure, announces the formation of RV Physician Partners LLC, a new division of vascular access centers slated to open in 2013.

"The addition of RV Physician Partners' outpatient vascular access services will enhance the continuum of care for our hemodialysis patients," said Larry Chatfield, CEO of Renal Ventures Management. "Providing superior ongoing care and maintenance of vascular access improves not only continuity of care, but also clinical outcomes."

Access related complications are the leading cause of hospitalizations for End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) patients. This is especially true with patients who have venous catheters for temporary access. RV Physician Partners will work with Vascular Surgeons, Interventional Nephrologists and Interventional Radiologists to minimize access failures an hospitalizations by providing more accessible and more affordable alternatives to existing options.

To lead the new company, Renal Ventures brought on Adrian Amedia (News - Alert), a renal industry veteran with over 18 years of experience, to serve as president of RV Physician Partners. Amedia recently departed Vascular Access Centers (VAC), where he served as vice president of business development and was responsible for opening new facilities, improving physician reimbursement and recruiting interventional physicians to work in VAC-owned, office-based surgery practices.

Prior to his time at VAC, Amedia worked at DaVita for six years as director of business development and operations, where he was responsible for developing 32 free-standing vascular access centers throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Earlier in his career, Amedia worked in an executive role at Health Informatics (News - Alert) and in various clinical and administrative roles at Renal Disease Management before the company was sold to Renal Care Group.
