Vectron International Announces High Frequency, Ultra Low Noise Oscillator

Vectron International, a leader in the design and manufacture of Precision Oscillators and Timing Solutions for Communication, Industrial, Military and Space applications, today announced its new VS-501 High Frequency, Low Noise VCSO. The VS-501 provides low phase noise clock signals to high speed data converter applications. This product will be showcased in Hall B5, Stand 237 at the Electronica 2012 Show in Munich, Germany from November 13-16^th 2012.

Data converters are evolving to reach higher speeds and enabling architectural evolution in the way that high throughput data is processed in the digital domain. High speed Digital to Analog Converters (DAC) can now output RF signals directly, removing the need for analog up-conversion stages and allowing for true software defined radio architectures. High speed ADCs are making coherent optical communications a reality.

"Utilizing data conversion on high speed signals, whether in wireless base stations, optical communications, test and measurement or military communications, requires extremely low phase noise, low jitter clock signals in order to guarantee the highest levels of signal quality," says Greg Smolka, Vice President of Global Sales at Vectron. The VS-501 provides ultra low phase noise performance in the 800MHz to 2.5GHz range with noise floors as low as -164dBc/H and integrated phase jitter at 12fs rms in the 12kHz to 20MHz band. In addition to its low phase noise VCSO products, Vectron also offers customers low phase noise OCXOs and VCXOs, along with innovative clock path technology including TCXOs, XOs and jitter attenuators that provide ultra low jitter timing solutions.
