Patterson Companies CEO Scott P. Anderson Elected Chairman of Dental Trade Alliance

Patterson Companies, Inc. (Nasdaq: PDCO) today announced that Scott P. Anderson, its president and chief executive officer, has been elected chairman of the board of the Dental Trade Alliance (DTA), an association of companies that provide dental equipment, supplies, materials and services to dentists and other oral care professionals.

Anderson said, "It is an honor to work with the DTA leadership, which shares a common voice on the major issues facing the dental profession. Reflecting Patterson's culture, the DTA devotes time and talent to causes that benefit all stakeholders in dentistry."

Gary Price, DTA's chief executive officer, said, "Scott Anderson is the fifth person in Patterson's 100 year history to serve as chairman of our dental trade group. We are proud to have him as our chairman and look forward to a successful and productive year under his leadership."

DTA, the voice of the dental industry, has also become a leader in the dental community, paving the wayfor the formation of a coalition of 37 dental organizations called The Partnership for Healthy Mouths, Healthy Lives. The goal of the Partnership is to improve oral health in America. The coalition partnered with the Ad Council to launch a national oral health awareness campaign in August 2012. This campaign targets caregivers of children ages 0-12, stressing the importance of brushing their teeth for two minutes, twice a day: www.2min2x.org.

Anderson was first elected to the DTA board in 2006 as a director-at-large. He became an officer in 2009 and was elected second vice chairman. Anderson serves on the DTA's executive committee and has chaired its strategic planning committee.
