BRIEF: Roseville's Daegis reports $252,000 quarterly profit [The Sacramento Bee]
(Sacramento Bee (CA) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Nov. 29--Daegis, the Roseville-based "electronic discovery" company, today reported net income of $252,000, or a penny a share, for its second quarter ended Oct. 31.
That compares net income of 795,000, or 5 cents per share, in the same quarter last year.
Second-quarter revenue was $10.3 million, compared with $11.1 million in the year-ago period.
CEO Todd Wille noted that the company added positions and expanded services during the most recent quarter and expects "to see improved results in the second half of the (fiscal) year."
The company, long known as Unify Corp., renamed itself Daegis in July 2011, one year after it spent $38 million to buy San Francisco software maker Daegis.
"Electronic discovery" generally refers to discovery in civil litigation in connection with exchanging information in an electronic format.
