Off-duty Oklahoma City police officer seen on video punching man in bar, papers show
Dec 03, 2012 (The Oklahoman - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Surveillance video obtained by investigators shows an off-duty Oklahoma City police officer repeatedly punching another bar patron in the face, according to court papers.
Kris Hunter, 35, of Oklahoma City, was charged Thursday in Oklahoma County District Court with misdemeanor assault and battery, papers show.
Hunter is accused of punching Jeremy Pospisil after Pospisil confronted Hunter about sleeping with his wife, according to a probable cause affidavit filed with the charges.
Pospisil and his wife are in the middle of a divorce, he said.
Hunter turned himself in to authorities Saturday and is free on bond, a police spokesman said Monday.
The incident occurred about 10 p.m. Nov. 11 at Sipango Lounge, 4301 N Western Ave.
Hunter denied the allegations made by Pospisil, became angry and starting hitting Pospisil, police reported.
A police investigator who watched the video wrote in the affidavit that he "observed the victim sitting at the bar and Kris Hunter punches him multiple times in the face."
Pospisil told police he didn't hit Hunter and only raised his hands to try and protect himself from the punches, according to the affidavit.
Hunter is on paid administrative leave, the spokesman said. He is a 10-year veteran of the department.
