BRIEF: Local man reminded of bail stipulations
TAHLEQUAH, Dec 03, 2012 (Tahlequah Daily Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
A Tahlequah man was given a reminder in court last week of the stipulations to his bail.
James Allen Rice, 44, was arrested earlier this year and charged with possession of child pornography. Detectives who investigated the case claim Rice had anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 child pornography images in his possession.
Rice has pleaded not guilty and was released on a $25,000 bond, according to court records. He appeared before District Judge Darrell Shepherd Thursday afternoon for a criminal disposition docket, where Shepherd reminded Rice of his restrictions while out on bail.
Rice is to have no children in his residence, and is not to be around other children unless other adults are present. Shepherd told Rice he is to have no communication, directly or indirectly, with children -- including any contact through electronic forms such as the Internet.
Rice was ordered back Dec. 13 at 1:30 p.m. for another criminal docket in front of Shepherd.
