Member of 'Get Money Boys' accused of trying to sell firearm

Dec 04, 2012 (La Crosse Tribune - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A La Crosse teen authorities say is a member of the "Get Money Boys" gang tried to sell a firearm stolen during an Oct. 5 home invasion, an investigator testified today.

DuJuan Jackson, 18, and co-defendants De'aaron Appleton, 17, and Areschial Page, 18, are charged with raiding 518 S. Fifth Ave., where they held seven occupants at gunpoint while they stole marijuana, cash, a laptop computer and a gun, according to court records.

An informant told investigators that Jackson tried to sell the gun stolen during the home invasion, La Crosse police investigator Andrew Rosenow testified.

Jackson stood mute to charges of armed robbery with use of force and armed burglary, both as party to the crime, as a judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf during his preliminary hearing in La Crosse County Circuit Court. His next court date is Feb. 19.

The hearings on identical charges for Appleton and Page, Jackson's cousin and roommate, were continued as the public defender's office searches for attorneys.

An informant told authorities the three men and a 16-year-old juvenile were responsible for the home invasion, Rosenow testified. Page told the informant after the crime that they stole a half-pound of marijuana, a .40 caliber firearm, an iPhone and a laptop, Rosenow said.

Investigators found two wallets stolen from the Fifth Avenue home and marijuana in Page's bedroom, Rosenow said.

Police say the men are part of the "Get Money Boys" gang that targets other criminals.

Prosecutors also charged Appleton, Juan Winslow, 19, and the 16-year-old in a similar robbery Oct. 3 at 612 N. Eighth St. where they took guns, drugs, cash and electronics at gunpoint.
