BRIEF: No arrests in Red Bluff shooting

A 41-year-old Corning man was one of two men shot in what Tehama County sheriff's officials are calling an attempted homicide on Friday in Red Bluff.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a 2 p.m. call from Salvador Verduzco, who reported that he and a friend, David Oliveros, 29, of Red Bluff, had been shot while at the Irish Lane house south of Red Bluff.
Verduzco drove Oliveros, who suffered a gunshot wound to his thigh, to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital. where they talked to investigators.
Deputies found no one at the Irish Lane residence, but said they spoke to witnesses who reported hearing gunshots coming from the area and vehicles immediately leaving.
Verduzco reported the shooters were in a red Dodge Ram pickup and were last seen on Sacramento Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Department.
A motive for the shooting and the type of gun used has not been released, and no one has been arrested.
Sheriff's investigators reported they did gather evidence at the Irish Lane residence, but did not offer any more details.
"We are activity chasing some leads," said sheriff's Lt. Dave Greer.
