Sharp to supply advanced LCD panels to Fujitsu, Sony, Asustek
(Japan Economic Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) OSAKA, Dec. 22 -- (Kyodo) _ Sharp Corp. will supply its advanced liquid crystal display panels to Fujitsu Ltd., Sony Corp. and Taiwan's Asustek Computer Inc., sources familiar with the matter said Saturday.
Sharp's so-called Igzo power-saving LCD panels with enhanced picture quality will be used in the Japanese and Taiwanese electronics makers' personal and tablet computers to be introduced in 2013, they said.
The Osaka-based firm, which is aiming to turn its business around by expanding Igzo sales, is already in talks to supply the display to such companies as Hewlett-Packard Co. and Dell Inc.
