Tracker software at sonography centres soon [DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India)]
(DNA : Daily News & Analysis (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The work regarding installation of the tracker software at sonography centers of the city is likely to be completed in coming three months. The process will officially begin from January 22 with the opening of tenders which were invited by the vendors for providing the softwares.
Nodal officer for the implementation of Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act in the district, Satish Joshi said, "The government has already sanctioned funds for the purpose and tenders would be opened on January 22. We are hopeful that the entire process would be completed in three months time."
Interestingly, the process for inviting the tenders was initiated even before the government sanctioned the funds. The idea was prime facie rejected by the government and funds were not being provided, said sources.
Then it was decided by officials of the district administration that the amount collected as registration fee from the centers would be used for infrastructural development. The cost of installation of the software would be borne by the center owners.
But now everything would remain the same and the center owners will not have to bear any cost for installation of the software, said sources.
"Funds to the tune of Rs 1 crore have been sanctioned by the government for the purpose," Joshi told DNA.
