National PR firm client Dr. Rich Castellano comments on new plastic surgery reality show in Fox's 'Pop Tarts'

“Plastic Wives” debuted this  month on TLC, a station known for its smash reality shows including “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and “Hoarding: Buried Alive,” and the media world is already a buzz about what kind of effect this plastic surgery show will have on viewers.

In Fox’s “Pop Tarts” segment, national PR firm The Publicity Agency’s client, Tampa facial plastic surgeon Dr. Rich Castellano, explained how he doesn’t really believe “Plastic Wives” will do much beyond shock viewers. He believes the show, which he described as “‘Jersey Shore’ meets ‘Honey Boo Boo’ meets ‘Dr. 90210’,” doesn’t accurately depict the majority of cosmetic surgery patients who want to fight aging and correct deformities in a natural looking way.

“Most people want to fight aging and correct deformities with treatments that look natural so no one can tell they’ve had surgery. The cast in this show want to fight each other for attention and camera time,” said Castellano.

Based in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Castellano has performed over 5,000 facelifts, laser procedures, and cosmetic treatments of the face and neck making him one of the most experienced facial plastic surgeons in the United States today.
