Biamp Systems has expanded its networked public address and voice evacuation system with the release of Vocia 1.6.
Scheduled to be available in June 2014, Vocia 1.6 includes several new features and enhancements such as support for unicast CobraNet local inputs and impedance monitoring for the Vocia VA-8600 amplifier.
The new version also include a dry contact control input mode for Vocia Life Safety Interface (LSI-16e), VI-8, and Vocia General Purpose I/O (GPIO-1) devices.
“Vocia 1.6 delivers the flexibility within a system to integrate paging directly with both VoIP and analog telephone systems,” said Graeme Harrison, executive vice president of Marketing, Biamp Systems.
Vocia 1.6 includes three new hardware devices including the eight-channel Vocia Input (VI-8) for analog and digital paging inputs that rapidly routes signals to any assigned page code.
The other two hardware devices include the VoIP-1 telephone-paging adaptor, and the POTS-1 analog telephone-paging adaptor. Both the VoIP-1 and POTS-1 are suitable for installations in smaller hospitals and industrial environments.
Both can also be deployed at places that require a simple VoIP or POTS extension capability.
Biamp Systems provides innovative, networked media systems that power the world's most sophisticated audio/video installations. The company was in news last week for unveiling the latest version of its flagship family of digital signal processor (DSP)-based media systems called Tesira 2.0.
Tesira 2.0 includes an all-new series of audio processors called TesiraFORTÉ that extend Audio Video Bridging (AVB) to application-specific settings.
Consisting of eight preconfigured models TesiraFORTÉ is designed to bring more simplicity and options to existing conferencing, telephony, and VoIP environments.
“As an enterprise-level platform, our Tesira family has been widely applauded since its initial release," said Justin O'Connor, audio product manager, Biamp Systems. "And now, with TesiraFORTÉ, we're extending that sophisticated technology to application-specific and value-conscious designs -- bringing exceptional AVB audio solutions to everyday applications.”
