Following a sector global trend of expansion, Competence Call Center (CCC) is scheduled to open a call center on June 1, in Brasov, Romania.
It will be the second location in Romania for the Vienna, Austria-based customer service outsourcing provider, with the first center previously opened in Bucharest, in 2007, which currently hosts 400 some employees.
The new call center will be staffed with over 100 employees, who can speak German, English, Italian and French. Human resources, IT and finance specialists are also being hired for the new center.
"The great availability of the Romance languages, as well as German, has convinced us to open our second Romanian site in Brasov,” Ulf Herbrechter, COO at CCC, said in a company statement. “The city has about 232,000 inhabitants, 46,000 of which are students. Languages English, French, Spanish, German and Italian are widely spoken.”
Overall, CCC has more than 4,500 employees working at 13 locations in eight nations. CCC provides clients with agents in some 28 languages. The company has seen more than 100 million customer contacts since starting in July 1998. Among its services are the handling of incoming calls, outgoing calls, e-mails, fax, letters, live chat, social media monitoring, and eCommerce solutions.
“Right now we are building teams of German speakers and other international languages for our first international partner, an air-carrier … that flies to over 150 destinations around the world. We’re planning on expanding in the next few months,” Dana Waschk, the company’s human resources director, said in a statement quoted by Balkans.com.
The expansion by CCC comes, as Deloitte (News - Alert) Consulting reported last year in its 2013 Global Contact Center Survey, that 77 percent of contact centers expect to maintain current size or grow in one to two years. And when choosing a location, access to labor was called an “important consideration,” the survey said.
