AT&T (News - Alert) continues its run of hiring employees at breakneck pace. According to the South Florida Business Journal, the company is looking to add as many as 225 new employees to its locations from Key West to Vero Beach in Florida. In the entire state, the cellular provider is looking to add as many as 500 people to locations spread out throughout Florida.
According to AT&T, the positions will be sales, customer service and consulting jobs. Most of the positions will need to be bilingual. Nearly half of all the new hires will be working at call centers with more than 145 people being shipped to Miami locations. The rest of the call center hires are going to be working at the Sunrise call center.
While AT&T has been hiring an awful lot of call center employees in several different states, this hiring round certainly isn’t dedicated to only those positions. Seventy-five of the positions the company has decided to hire will be for sales consultants and assistant managers.
AT&T is not the only company that is going to be looking to add more people to its employment rolls. Verizon has announced it is working in Arkansas to get more people working at sales and call centers in that state. Successful firms like these two are always looking to grow and this kind of growth is a pretty good indication that the firms are indeed seeing healthy bottom lines.
“We continue to invest in our networks and Florida job growth to ensure our customers have a great experience, whether it’s on their mobile device, in one of our stores or on the phone with an AT&T customer care representative,” AT&T Florida President Joe York said in a recent statement.
In total, the company already boasts more than 15,000 people under its employ.
