The call center world can see quite a few ups and downs. Some communities are going to hail the arrival of a new call center and others unfortunately have to watch them get shuttered up while the jobs dry up. Sitel is actually a pretty good example of just how uneven the market can be every now and then. Recently, the company announced it was bringing more than 150 new full-time positions to its Albuquerque, New Mexico, facility. That announcement comes just a few months after the firm had to announce a massive number of layoffs in Georgia.
It appears that when it comes to revenue and spending capital, Georgia’s loss is Albuquerque’s gain. The company announced that a majority of the positions available in the New Mexico city will be supervisory as well as inbound customer care agent positions.
“Sitel is continuing to create greater value for our clients through streamlining our business processes, utilizing cutting-edge technology and delivering an exceptional customer experience to our client’s consumers,” said Michael Messier, Site Director at Sitel’s Albuquerque facility. “We look forward to bringing additional talent to our customer care team in Albuquerque and to continue to bring value to both new and existing clients.”
In order to bring in these new employees that will be taking the nearly 150 jobs, Sitel has been running a number of job fairs. Those fairs will continue to run through the end of May. People who are looking for a position at the facility will actually be able to get a sense of what they are in for, considering the job fair will take place at the location that is looking to add employees. Once the company gets the new 150 people on board, it will be in addition to the more than 60,000 people currently employed under the Sitel umbrella.
